William E. Scripps and the Scripps-Booth Luxury Automoblie

This country estate was built in 1927 by William E. Scripps. He was the heir to the Detroit News fortune and an early aviator, inventor, and radio pioneer. The cars he produced were well-designed light luxury models which included innovations such as the keyed ignition, power door locks, and the first spare tire.
