Pontiac GTO

The three letters stand for "Gran Turismo Omologato." In 1963 Pontiac Cheif Engineer John Z. DeLorean's team developed this high-performance model based on the upscale LeMans for the emerging youth market. By the end of its first model year in 1964, the GTO was wildly successful, inspring songs and a culture of automotive performance.
