Oakland Motor Car Company

In 1907 Edward Murphy's Pontiac Buggy Company was an established carriage company in Pontiac when Murphy founded the Oakland Motor Car Company to build motor vehicles in part of his factory. Oakland Motor Car Company eventually was overtaken by the remarkable success of its Pontiac model introduced in 1926 and its name was changed to Pontiac Motor Company in 1932.
