Fisher Body Plant #37

At 950 East Milwaukee is the former Fisher Body Plant #37. This plant was built in 1925 and it is tightly framed by the railroads that are a trademark of the Milwaukee Junction neighborhood. It was operated as a stamping plant and closed in 1989. This plant is now New Center Stamping and is used for the same purpose that it was built long ago. It was a site of filming in Eminem’s movie “Eight Mile.”
