Great Migrations: Coming to Work in Pontiac

In the early 20th Century due to the explosive growth of the automobile industry, and workers were desperately needed in Pontiac. More and more southerners moved north seeking better jobs and opportunties but families of color were challenged by the housing discrimination and segregation that was still present in the north. Their stories, struggles and successes are a great part of Pontiac's history.
