In November at our 25th Anniversary Gala at Ford House, MotorCities announced the winners of our 25th Anniversary Awards of Excellence. In the Heritage Tourism category, the recipient was Lloyd Ganton, operator of Ye Ole Carriage Shop in Spring Arbor.

Ganton, along with his wife Judy (pictured above), have an amazing collection that includes the most comprehensive compilation of automobiles made in the Jackson area, including the Jaxon model in the photo. Their collection also includes many other cars, as well as an entire room of Coca-Cola memorabilia, additional rooms featuring toys, pedal cars, radios and much more.

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to interview Lloyd and Judy at the Ye Ole Carriage Shop museum about the collection, the history of the auto industry in Jackson and their plans for the future.
