2008: Year of the Car
The celebration was a summer-long auto-tourism festival in the Detroit area to celebrate the respective centennials of General Motors and the Ford Model T. The celebration began with the May 14 kick-off of National Transportation Week and wrapped up during the Automotive Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies on October 7, 2008.
