Blog:
Short for "Web log," a website for self-publishing. "Blogging" means posting opinions, descriptions of events, graphics, and even videos. There's a place for others to comment. Teachers blog to communicate with students and parents.
Facebook:
Is a social website that began at Harvard that allows users to to post one's profile, send messages, show photos, and meet others with common interests.
MySpace:
Is considered a "Cool, working-class" social website, where most members can post profiles, send messages, show photos and meet others.
Twitter:
Is a mini-blogging service that lets people keep up with each other via "Tweets," which are short, 140-character messages picked up either on computers or cell phones.
YouTube:
Follows the motto, "Broadcast yourself". This is a platform that allows users to share their own videos, film clips and music, as well as video blogs.
