Nancy Thompson works for Oakland County as a Marketing Coordinator in the Economic Development & Community Affairs Department. She is involved in event, destination and heritage development primarily in the areas of new programming and funding support. In addition to her strategic planning efforts and stewardship community activities for the MotorCities National Heritage Area, Nancy is presently associated with the Count Your Steps Inc, Michigan Historic Preservation Network, Michigan Festivals and Events Association, Michigan Cultural Coalition, and City of Birmingham Historic District Study Committee. Prior to working for Oakland County, Nancy was a Senior Financial Analyst and Policy Analyst for the Ontario Ministry of Housing as well as a Market Analyst for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. She received her formal training as an Urban Geographer in Canada at York University and the University of Toronto.
