Jim Worton

Jim has been the Executive Director and COO for the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan since November 2007. His previous work experience includes working for cultural heritage institutions at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri; Barkerville Historic Town in Barkerville, BC; the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta; the Provincial Museum of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta; and the Fort McMurray Oil Sands Interpretive Center in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The thematic diversity represented at each these institutions has influenced Jim’s broad interest in interpreting and promoting heritage appreciation for the public in museums, historic sites, and interpretive centers throughout his career.
Jim was invited to join the MotorCities National Heritage Board in 2008. He participates on the Nominating Committee with a keen interest in expanding the breadth and diversity of the Board to support the organization’s mission, community outreach, and strategic planning efforts.
